Docker Unified UIMA Interface: New perspectives for NLP on big data

New article by Giuseppe Abrami, Markos Genios, Filip Fitzermann, Daniel Baumartz, and Alexander Mehler published in SoftwareX, February 2025

The paper focuses on the Docker Unified UIMA Interface (DUUI) framework, which enables the automated orchestration of GPU-based NLP processes. By doing so, DUUI introduces novel text-technological perspectives for existing practices in the scientific analysis of large-scale data across various domains.

Giuseppe Abrami and Daniel Baumartz, of ENTAILab-2; CIRCLET, develop infrastructure-driven solutions for big data analysis in the social sciences and Alexander Mehler is their team leader and ENTAILab-2 Principal Invesitgator. Markos Genios and Filip Fitzermann are their colleagues in the Texttechnology lab at Goethe University Frankfurt.
